What is My Home Worth?

If you are thinking about selling your home, you might ask, “What is my home worth?” Knowing the estimated value of your home can help you determine the list price for your home within the current market. Homes that are priced within the market will sell, while homes priced outside the market will sit.

Buyers may also use the estimated value of a home to help them determine how much to money to offer for a given home. An offer that is in the market for a given property has the possibility of being accepted by the seller, whereas an offer that is out of the market will likely be rejected.

As your trusted real estate advisor, I highly recommend two useful tools (in the form of reports), a Property Report and a Comparative Market Analysis (“CMA”).

A Property Report is a detailed report about a given property the includes the property street address or location description, county assessor’s parcel number, lot size, dwelling size, year built, owner information, year purchased, purchase amount, property tax data, and many other details.

A CMA includes basic information about the subject property and comparative properties (normally within the same subdivision as the subject property). It is one of the best tools that sellers and buyers use to estimate a home’s market value.
